Kinesiology focuses on using movement and exercise to promote rehabilitation, reduce pain, and optimize function. We offer it alongside physiotherapy to help you maximize your full potential in the most accessible way.
Meet Our Kinesiologist: Clare Beary
Clare is fascinated by human movement and loves sharing this passion with her clients by supporting their recovery and ultimately empowering them to return to the activities that they love.
She has extensive experience working with individuals experiencing persistent pain and integrates kinesiology with yoga therapy and other movement techniques to help clients regain safety, wellness, and freedom in their bodies.
With a BHKin from UBC, Clare has been a BCAK Registered Kinesiologist since 2008 and has worked in the health and fitness industry for over 20 years, focusing on rehabilitation for most of her career. She holds a CSEP-CEP (Clinical Exercise Physiologist™) certification and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), and trained in reformer Pilates.
Clare can work with you either directly as your sole provider or in partnership with your physiotherapist. If you’re interested in kinesiology, you can request a referral from your physiotherapist or book directly with Clare.

Good to Knows
-
Kinesiology is recognized as a distinct professional discipline and so is often covered by WSBC, ICBC and long-term disability insurance providers. It can be covered by extended health benefits in addition to physiotherapy coverage; you’d need to check with your insurer.
-
If your need is predominantly movement-based, especially if you need lots of sessions, Clare can supplement the work with your physio with strong expertise, but at a reduced cost. This can help you reserve your physio benefits for the more hands-on or complex aspects of your care. Or it can allow you to come more frequently at a lower cost to make faster progress with your symptoms. Clare works with your physio to offer seamless support as part of your team.
-
You can book directly to see Clare as a Kinesiologist. Kin’s have training to assess, make a plan and treat through movement. Clare can also flag and guide you if and how additional physio might be recommended. Kinesiologists cannot assess or diagnose to the same extent as physios, nor can they offer pelvic exams or specific external pelvic floor assessments. They don’t do hands on treatments, so their toolbox is limited to movement and exercise.
